The Internet is Freaking out, and It’s All Thanks to the Man Choker

New year, new… things? While 2016 saw the rise, and fall, of chokers, 2017 has already put a twist on the 90s staple. Introducing the man choker. What has made quite the stir since its recent introduction on ASOS, no one quite seems to know what’s happening. GQ wants to put a stop to it now, and this morning, Matt Lauer unbuttoned his shirt to reveal one on the Today show, saying, “They’re late to the game. Because guys, I have been wearing a choker for years. I’m not kidding. For years.” Whatever’s going on, at least the year’s kicking off with a laugh. But if you’re, um, into it, ASOS is offering them in velvet, suede, leather and metal.
