Whoopi Goldberg Has Designed Your Next Ugly Christmas Sweater

Whoopi Goldberg is here for you this holiday season. The co-host of The View has announced that she will design eight limited-edition “ugly” holiday sweaters. Goldberg is teaming up with Lord & Taylor to release the sweaters, which will be available online and at select locations on Nov. 1, just in time for holiday shopping.

Goldberg is herself an avid holiday sweater fan, but she thinks they’re in decline. “The quality of the Christmas sweaters has gone down for me. They’re not as comfortable and they don’t feel as good,” Goldberg explained to WWD. “If we’re going to do it, we wanted to do them really well. They’re cashmere blends and they’re really soft.”

This kind of quality comes with a rather sizable price tag: the sweaters, made from alpaca, wool and cashmere, cost $139 each. Lord & Taylor will display the sweaters as part of its holiday installation on Nov. 15, where shoppers will be able to check them out for the rest of the holiday season.
