16 Great Holiday Tech Gifts For Your Wife, Spouse or Partner

Buying a Christmas gift for my wife becomes more difficult year after year. Birthdays, anniversaries and special occasions can all be salvaged with a nice dinner or night out, but there’s so much build-up as the holidays approach that pressure to find the perfect gift is evergreen. This year, I decided to just ask. But, I did add a specific caveat; it had to be something “tech forward,” new and innovative. Within just a few days, my wife had sent me more than a dozen links to self-care gadgets, unique home decor, contemporary air purifiers, inventive cleaning apparatuses and other stocking stuffers she “stumbled across.”

While this list does make my life easier in terms of gift buying, I was disappointed not to see more things we could enjoy together, like Robosen’s fully automated transforming Grimlock. That said, there are some really cool items on here that are perfect for your wife, girlfriend, crush, mom or whomever you’re looking to impress this year.

Bloom Air Purifier

Created by Canadian cleaning tech company Dupray, the Bloom is one of the newest Medical-grade HEPA-13 air purifiers on the market and doubles as an accent piece for your living room, kitchen or playroom. Thanks to thoughtful design, the Bloom can easily blend in with any type of decor. You can use it as a planter or easily transform it into an accent table with a supplemental wood table top.

Air purifiers can make a big difference as you try to keep your household healthy this winter by eliminating common air pollutants including dust, bacteria, smoke, viruses, VOCs, pet dander, allergens, mold and household odors. The Bloom features an easy-to-use interface, a quiet mode for nighttime, and will help clean the air in rooms up to 1,500 sq ft. The device is also kid and pet-friendly if you have little ones crawling around.

Walking Pad

After having her hip replaced, my mom has been struggling to recover, even with the help of weekly physical therapy visits. So, a walking pad just makes sense. After doing a bit of a search, I found a few decent options on Amazon, including the Sperax Walking Pad and the Sportstech treadmill, which both have a high weight limit (over 300 lbs) and cost under $250. If you’re looking for something a bit more rugged, the KSports Foldable treadmill might be the way to go and it has all the bells and whistles you’d expect from a treadmill at your local gym. If you’re more concerned with aesthetics, the Walking Pad is a bit more expensive, but it’s new, sleek and apparently all over my wife’s Instagram.

Jewelry cleaner

As a stereotypical guy, I have never even thought about cleaning jewelry. In high school, I regretfully wore hemp bracelets because I thought they looked cool, but they usually only lasted until they started to get dirty. This week, my wife informed me that if you wear jewelry regularly, especially things like earrings, necklaces, glasses, they should be cleaned. Thankfully in 2023, there’s tech specifically designed to give your precious personal items a good scrubbing. This ultrasonic cleaner is small enough for a stocking and powerful enough to vibrate the dirt off your small items in a matter of minutes. Just a warning, these machines will not remove tarnish and can be extremely destructive if you use them incorrectly with delicate items.

Self-Care

There are so many self-care gadgets these days, it’s hard not to see waves of them as you scroll TikTok and Instagram. I’m just including a few suggestions I’ve seen over the last couple of months since personal care gifts can sometimes backfire unless they’ve been specifically requested. Some items my wife suggested for herself included the Gloss Ray water flosser, the Omnilux Contour Facemask, and Solawave Red Light Therapy wand. Each of these are small enough for a stocking, or wrapped up as part of a larger care package.

Lomi composter

Composting can be time-consuming and rather smelly, but it’s an important part of recycling. We still use a small metal bin, which we then take out to our larger composter. Taking out that tiny batch of rotting plant material each week is my job since my wife refuses. To help solve this minor inconvenience, I’m considering a Lomi. There are several different technologies that help manage natural waste in the kitchen in 2023, but the Lomi is the approximate size of a pressure cooker and turns your compostables, including coffee grounds and filters, eggshells, paper towels, cardboard and even meat scraps and bioplastics, into useful soil overnight.

Tech Accessories

After years of mindful examples set by my wife, (she might read this) I’ve come to appreciate the aesthetic of a clean house. That includes our office, where we have the most electronics. To help clean up errant wires, pencils, stray iPads and my laptop, we’ve used several Oakywood products including the Dual Laptop Dock, the MagSafe iPhone stand and the Oakyblocks set to add form and style to function.

Even though I do most of my writing on a laptop, I still take daily notes in pencil. So, after finding them a few years ago my wife primarily orders Sprout pencils. They are sustainably made from certified wood sourced from responsibly managed forests, clay and a cellulose capsule with non-GMO seeds, which come in a variety of options including wildflowers, herbs and various tree species.

This year, we also gave in to the standing desk trend with a Flexispot E7 Pro. My wife doesn’t work from home, so she hasn’t got to use it much, but I love it. As a work-from-home dad, I can attest that it’s incredibly sturdy, fun for kids to play with, turns into a fort with ease and is immensely useful if you need a lot of space to spread out as you work. Friends who have more grown-up jobs than me, using blueprints, lawyer papers, technical schematics or construction plans, swear by it.

Home Improvement

Owning a home means constantly fixing or upgrading something around the house. For us, it’s meant changing out our old 1950’s era doors and locks and fixing the lighting in the yard. Since we have young kids running around, I wanted a way for them to be able to unlock the door on their own. With the Kwikset Halo, we can unlock the door using a preset code, a key or our phone via the Kwikset app. The product works with any smartphone and can also be voice activated with Alexa and Google Play. The company makes a wide array of smart locks including ones that work with fingerprints and the Kwikset app.

Ooka

Ooka is how I imagine someone on Bravo might smoke weed. While it looks closer to a hookah than a bong, the Ooka works much like a Keurig coffee maker. Just insert some water, pick a pod (which come in varieties like “Zone In”, “No Worries” and “Get Zen”) and settle in. Each pod is packed with an infused mix of flower paired with a proprietary blend of terpenes made in partnership with Seven 9 cannabis. Over the summer, a reviewer with the Los Angeles Times called it “a near perfect way to smoke weed” and it’s easy to see why. Push button ease makes it easy to control intensity and dose, while the Ooka’s intelligent microchip creates optimal heating conditions.
