Periscope Streams Can Finally Be Embedded and Watched in Tweets

Tech News

Twitter recently announced that they are integrating live Periscope broadcasts directly on their timeline.

Whenever you share your broadcast to Twitter, it’ll be automatically be embedded in the tweet itself and will auto play when the user comes across it. Viewers are able to experience the broadcast in its entirety including seeing hearts and chats, even if you don’t have a Periscope account.

We’ve always wanted to make it as easy as possible to watch and broadcast live video. See the world through someone else’s eyes?—?that’s been our mission since day one.

However, the only caveat is that it’ll be only available on iOS devices using the native Twitter app. Periscope said Android and web users will be able to take advantage of this new feature soon.

This is a very good move by Periscope taking advantage of Twitter to bring in new users that might not be familiar with the live streaming service. Users now aren’t forced to leave their Twitter app to watch a broadcast, which makes for a better user experience.
