Virgin America’s New Entertainment System Will Make You Not Want to Get Off the Plane

Long flights can be boring, but not if you fly Virgin America. The airline, which has long been seen as an industry leader in terms of in-flight entertainment, has officially upped the ante with an update to their RED IFE (in-flight entertainment) system.

Virgin America announced on its blog that idea behind this system was to reinvent the flight experience for the better. OK, so how are they going to do that? By offering more.

What’s called Red Beta comes on new touch screens with full seasons of popular shows like The Walking Dead, Orange is the New Black and House of Cards. Red Beta also boasts the first ever in-flight surround-sound listening experience on select content and games like Pac-Man.

Red Beta will be offered on three aircraft by the end of June and fleetwide by 2016.
