This Halloween weekend (Oct. 28- Oct. 30) streets in downtown Ithaca, N.Y. will transform into a muggle-welcoming Diagon Alley. The Wizarding Weekend event started as a one-day Facebook event last year that brought in a whomping 8,000 visitors.
Halloween enthusiasts and those who love all things Harry Potter will experience a legendary Wizarding Weekend as the town transforms into a wizarding alley and shopping area similar to the one in London behind the Leaky Cauldron. Other events include Quidditch matches on electric broomstick bikes, Dark Arts Coffee Tours, Advanced Potions Classes for adults to concoct classy cocktails, Character Breakfasts, the TriWizard Ball, Wizarding Duels, Costume Contests and Horcrux Scavenger Hunts to defeat the dark one.
Wizarding influence vendors include Broomhilde which creates handcrafted wands and brooms, The Weird Sisters selling magical themed artwork and Blood Moon Adornments offering handmade witch and wizard jewelry.
Hotels are joining in on the magic and offering special travel offers and discounts.
Grab your Ron and Hermione and experience your own Wizarding Weekend just in time to celebrate the release of “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them” in November.
