A Harry Potter Wine Night Is Coming to Chicago

Although Butterbeer, the creamy, buttery alcoholic beverage, is fancied by most witches and wizards in the Harry Potter series, wine might be coming in at a close second. An event space in Chicago is hosting a Harry Potter wine dinner.

The City Winery Chicago is hosting “Expecto! A Harry Potter Wine Dinner” for two nights in October. Be prepared to travel to the Wizarding World through your taste-buds, not floo powder. City Winery’s website states, “Join us as we travel through the Wizarding World with a 4-coursed pairing menu based on the Hogwarts House’s of Hufflepuff, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, & Gryffindor.”

The details might be a mystery, but like the forbidden forest it has caught the attention of muggles, witches and wizards alike. The first night, October 24, has already sold out which led to City Winery adding another night, October 25, of the two-hour, $85 event. The second date will only start out being only available to City Winery “VinoFile” members starting on Tuesday at noon. Tickets for the public will begin to go on sale on Thursday at noon.

Gather your wizarding friends, expect house elves who can’t handle their alcohol well, with a portkey to experience the magical night with City Winery: “With a dash of mystery and a dollop of creativity, we will conjure up a prixe-fixe meal that not even ‘Obliviate’ will make you forget.”
