Simon Pegg and Nick Frost Will Hunt Ghosts in New Amazon Series

The boys are back in town: Valiant cinematic duo Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are returning to television as paranormal investigators for a new comedy-horror series set to stream exclusively on Amazon Prime Video, per Variety.

Truth Seekers follows Frost and Pegg’s characters as they film paranormal sightings in the U.K., share their findings on an online channel and work towards uncovering a conspiracy that could threaten the human race—think Ghost Hunters in the vein of BuzzFeed Unsolved.

The project marks the Cornetto duo’s first return to the small screen since Pegg’s Channel 4 sitcom Spaced ended its two-year run in 2001. Set to launch as an Amazon original, the series hails from Pegg, Frost and Miles Ketley’s Sony-backed Stolen Picture production company, and will comprise eight half-hour installments.

Nailing the Pegg-Frost duo (which has a cult following in both U.S. and U.K. markets) is a big move for the streamer in the midst of forking over heavy investments for its growing catalogue of original programming. Though a tentative release schedule has yet to be announced, Amazon announced production on Truth Seekers will begin in September, so keep an eye out for any first-look images and/or footage in the fall.
