Cosmic Chaos Ensues in New Trailer for Prime Video’s The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy

Prime Video has just released the chaotic first trailer for the upcoming animated series The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy. The trailer features a closer look at the futuristic setting of the show and the inner workings of its titular space hospital.

According to the press release, “The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy follows Dr. Sleech and Dr. Klak—aliens, best friends, and intergalactically renowned surgeons—as they tackle anxiety-eating parasites, illegal time loops, and deep-space STIs. In Season 1, doctors Sleech and Klak take on a highly dangerous and potentially groundbreaking case and, in doing so, put existence itself in jeopardy. Although considering their dismal personal lives, oblivion might be an improvement.”

Set in the year 14,002 in the Ergulon galaxy, the trailer is set to the song “Oh!” by The Linda Lindas and showcases the many alien species on display, ranging in appearance from animal-like creatures with beaks and tails to more traditional humanoid aliens with multiple eyes. Also present is the major medical discovery at the center of the show: a worm-like parasite that eats anxiety.

Voicing the characters of Dr. Sleech and Dr. Klak are Stephanie Hsu and Keke Palmer, respectively. Additionally, producers Maya Rudolph and Natasha Lyonne voice Dr. Vlam and Nurse Tup, along with Sam Smith as Dr. Azel.

Joining the regular cast is a plethora of guest stars including Tracee Ellis Ross, Bowen Yang, Abbi Jacobson, Jay EllisAndrew DismukesLennon Parham, Gary Anthony Williams, and John Waters. Also appearing are five of the Culkin brothers: Kieran, Macaulay, Rory, Christian, and Shane.

The series was created and written by Cirocco Dunlap and a second season order has already been announced.

All eight episodes drop Friday, February 23rd on Prime Video; watch the trailer below.
