AMC has just released the trailer for the upcoming sequel series The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, spinning off from the long-running zombie hit. In the trailer, we get a look at the zombies that our protagonists Rick and Michonne (played still by Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira) will be going up against in the series.
According to a press release, “The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live presents an epic love story of two characters changed by a changed world. Kept apart by distance. By an unstoppable power. By the ghosts of who they were. Rick and Michonne are thrown into another world, built on a war against the dead… And ultimately, a war against the living. Can they find each other and who they were in a place and situation unlike any they’ve ever known before? Are they enemies? Lovers? Victims? Victors? Without each other, are they even alive—or will they find that they, too, are the Walking Dead?”
Featuring dramatic vocalizations in the background, the trailer previews some of the locations appearing in the show, ranging from desolate wastelands to urban skyscrapers. We also get a glimpse as to what Rick and Michonne are separately up to since the last time we saw them. With Rick’s impending military involvement, the stakes are clearly high as the characters must navigate a barely-recognizable world.
