Ricky Martin Joins Cast of Versace: American Crime Story

Ricky Martin has joined the already-promising cast of Ryan Murphy’s Versace: American Crime Story. Martin will play Antonio D’Amico, the longtime partner of murdered designer Gianni Versace.

Versace: American Crime Story is set to be the third installment of the critically acclaimed anthology series. The first installment, The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, was met with extremely positive reviews, earning nine Emmy Awards and two Golden Globes. It also got a spot high on Paste’s list of “The 25 Best TV Shows of 2016.” Needless to say, the future installments of American Crime Story have a lot to live up to.

Luckily, the forthcoming season already has a stellar cast. Penélope Cruz will play Donatella Versace, the designer’s volatile sister, and the season will also star Edgar Ramirez (The Girl on the Train) and Darren Criss (Glee), who have signed on to play Versace and Andrew Cunanan (Versace’s murderer), respectively. Now, with the addition of Martin, the series is shaping up to be a must-see.

Production of Versace: American Crime Story is set to begin later this month, targeting a late 2018 premiere. And we’ve still got the second season, Katrina: American Crime Story, to look forward to before the story of Versace’s murder begins.
