Netflix’s Anne with an E to End with Season 3

Netflix’s adaptation of Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery, Anne with an E, is ending with its 10-episode forthcoming third season, per THR.

The Canadian drama’s finale was confirmed by creator Moira Walley-Beckett, who wrote on Instagram, “We have reached the end of the red Green Gables road after 3 wonderful seasons. My heart is heavy but I am so proud of this show – proud of my talented cast, crew, writers, and directors for working together so passionately to bring my vision of #annewithane to life.”

Beloved fans & friends of #AWAE, I’m sorry for the sad Netflix/CBC news today I wish it could be different but it cannot. While the show’s third-season finale will only be available on Jan. 3, 2020, on Netflix, which has streaming rights to the rest of the world outside Canada, it aired Sunday on Canadian public broadcaster CBC.
