We Could Have Seen David Bowie Return to Twin Peaks
Photo by Patrick Riviere/GettyWhen a legendary artist like David Bowie passes, it’s not uncommon to think about all the things we’ll never get to see them do. For the late and great English musician and actor, that list includes an appearance on Showtime’s forthcoming Twin Peaks revival. Harry Goaz, the actor behind Deputy Andy Brennan, revealed what could have been during an interview with The Dallas Morning News.
Hardcore Peaks fans might remember Bowie’s cameo during the 1992 spinoff film Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me. In it, Bowie plays an FBI agent who mysteriously disappears and reappears even more mysteriously. After appearing out of an elevator in a trippy video camera sequence with Agent Dale Cooper, we see that Bowie’s character has somewhat returned from wherever he came from, sending us and the rest of the scene’s characters an unnerving, creepy message typical of Twin Peaks’ style.
Despite the massively long and completely exciting list of returning and guest stars set to appear in David Lynch’s cult-classic revival, Bowie’s almost-cameo would have sat squarely at the top of ours.
