Acclaimed Dark Comedy Fleabag Season Two Confirmed

Fleabag writer and star Phoebe Waller-Bridge has confirmed that there will be a second season of her critically acclaimed dark comedy.

Waller-Bridge revealed the forthcoming production plans in an interview with the U.K. publication Radio Times, saying that she built the series with a second season in mind. “We cracked it open so that she would be able to have a life beyond it and also there are so many more stories and story strands and character strands come out of this series,” said Waller-Bridge. Production for season two of Fleabag is set to begin in November, with a unspecified 2018 premiere date.

We were pretty big fans of the first season of Fleabag. Paste contributor Roxanne Sancto described it as a show “about the power of positive and negative female relationships, the power of female sexuality and, above all, the incredible power of comedy in otherwise tragic situations,” while Shannon M. Houston wrote, “You must watch every single episode of this blessed show,” and soon. Needless to say, we’re pretty psyched about a season two.

Watch the trailer for the first season below, and don’t miss Paste’s recent interview with Waller-Bridge.
