FX’s Fosse/Verdon Gets April Premiere Date

FX’s new eight-episode limited series Fosse/Verdon will premiere Tuesday, April 9, at 10 p.m. ET, the network announced Wednesday.

Lin-Manuel Miranda and Hamilton director Thomas Kail will again adorn the list of producers for an adaptation of a popular biography. This time, they’re tackling Sam Wasson’s scrupulous account of the legendary director and choreographer Bob Fosse. Fosse/Verdon will follow the tumultuous love affair between the iconoclastic Fosse and Broadway star Gwen Verdon. Sam Rockwell and Michelle Williams will star as the titular duo, alongside appearances and cameos from Broadway favorites like Norbert Leo Butz and Kelli Barrett. Margaret Qualley, Aya Cash, Nate Corddry, Susan Misner, Bianca Marroquin, Evan Handler, Rick Holmes, Paul Reiser, Ethan Slater and Byron Jennings round out the limited series’ cast.

Rockwell and Williams are no strangers to the biopic. Williams scored an Oscar nom for her portrayal of Marilyn Monroe in My Week With Marilyn, while Rockwell is fresh off of an Oscar nomination for his bumbling portrayal of George W. Bush in Vice. Expect the two to make the most of their previous stage experience in bringing the spark of such a dramatic relationship to life.
