“Death Is the Enemy”: Preview Next Week’s Game of Thrones

Though last night’s “Eastwatch” was hardly the Hardhome 2.0 some of us had expected, it was a sprawling and important installment of a show that is nothing but nowadays. As Game of Thrones begins to wrap up its penultimate season, the earth-shaking reveals and epic showdowns are coming in thick and fast—like snow, now that winter has arrived—and next week’s episode, reportedly titled “Death Is the Enemy,” figures to include all of those things in spades.

If this forthcoming sixth episode takes place entirely north of the Wall, we won’t complain. The swarthy badass supergroup made up of Jon Snow, Gendry, The Hound, Jorah Mormont, Davos, Tormund, Beric Dondarrion and Thoros of Myr is what Game of Thrones fan dreams are made of, and even if their mission to capture a wight alive borders on asinine, we can’t wait to see them take on the army of the dead. From the looks of the preview above, our boys are going to be staring down the Night King and fleeing in terror, two things that go pretty well together. Here’s hoping our fellowship of the beards retains all its members.
