Steven Yeun, Sandra Oh, Mark Hamill, More Join Invincible Voice Cast

Comic book writer Robert Kirkman is reuniting with The Walking Dead actor Steven Yeun on the Amazon animated series Invincible, THR reports. The eight-episode, hourlong drama is based on Kirkman’s long-running comic series of the same name, which featured art from Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley, concluding its run in February 2018.

Yeun will star as Mark Grayson, who’s pretty much your Average Joe … if you overlook the fact that his father is Omni-Man (played by none other than Oscar winner J.K. Simmons), Earth’s most powerful superhero.

The adaptation’s impressive cast is composed of Sandra Oh (Killing Eve), the legendary Mark Hamill, Seth Rogen (who’s also still at work on a feature film adaptation Jacobs (Love), Andrew Rannells (Girls), Zazie Beetz (Atlanta), Walton Goggins (Justified), Jason Mantzoukas (The Good Place), Mae Whitman (The DUFF), Chris Diamantopoulos (Silicon Valley), Melise (The Flash), voice acting veteran Kevin Michael Richardson (The Simpsons), Grey Griffin (Avengers Assemble) and Parenthood’s Max Burkholder.

Simon Racioppa (Teen Titans) has signed on as showrunner, and is set to executive produce alongside Kirkman, David Alpert (The Walking Dead) and Catherine Winder (Star Wars: The Clone Wars).

We’ll have to wait a while to enjoy this star-studded voice cast in action, though, as the series doesn’t premiere on Amazon until 2020.
