After finishing the Harry Potter series, J.K. Rowling turned her talents to adult literature with 2012’s The Casual Vacancy. It’s the story of an English town called Pagford, and how the fight for a vacant seat on the parish council dredges up the ghosts of the community’s troubled past. The book met with modest critical acclaim and terrific sales, and its now being made into a BBC miniseries that will begin airing on Feb. 15.
