A few days before Lodge 49’s season one finale, AMC has announced that the acclaimed rookie series will return for a 10-episode second season in 2019. The “modern fable,” set in sunny Long Beach, Calif., stars Wyatt Russell (Black Mirror, Everybody Wants Some!!) and is executive produced by Oscar nominee Paul Giamatti.
The “quietly extraordinary” series’ core cast and creative team aren’t going anywhere: Russell will reprise his role as Sean “Dud” Dudley in season two, and creator, writer and executive producer Jim Gavin will return alongside executive producer and showrunner Peter Ocko. Giamatti’s fellow EPs include Dan Carey and Jeff Freilich.
“Lodge 49 tells a funny, wise and meaningful story that immediately and deeply resonated with critics and viewers alike,” said David Madden, president of programming at AMC, SundanceTV, and AMC Studios, in a statement. “With a talented cast including Wyatt Russell, Brent Jennings and Sonya Cassidy, along with our strong creative team led by Jim Gavin and Peter Ocko, we are particularly proud of this series from both an AMC network and AMC Studios perspective and are looking forward to a return trip to the Lodge.”
