Mr. Robot Renewed for Third Season
Image via USA NetworkToday’s renewal of spellbinding cyber-drama Mr. Robot is hardly a surprising development, but it’s a welcome one all the same. Season three will air sometime in 2017, Deadline reports.
USA Network’s breakout hit, which follows the exploits and eccentricities of brilliant, hoodie-wearing hacker Elliot Alderson (Rami Malek), recently landed six Emmy nominations, including one for Outstanding Drama Series and an Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series nod for Malek.
Though the mind-bending show’s second season has been up and down, especially in terms of its viewership, it appears USA is committed to keeping Mr. Robot on the air for at least another season, if not much longer.
“We couldn’t be more proud of Mr. Robot, a series that has pushed boundaries, captured the cultural zeitgeist, and been honored as one of the best dramas on television,” said Chris McCumber, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment’s president of entertainment networks, in a statement.
Mr. Robot is currently in the midst of its second season, with new episodes airing Wednesday nights at 10 p.m. EST on USA. Check out our review of the latest episode here.
