Kathy Bates to Star in Netflix Pot Comedy Produced by Chuck Lorre

Oscar and Emmy winner Kathy Bates and producer Chuck Lorre are teaming up to create a Netflix stoner comedy called Disjointed, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The streaming service has ordered 20 half-hour episodes starring Bates as a lifelong marijuana advocate who owns an L.A. cannabis dispensary. Bates is joined at the dispensary by her twenty-something son and a security guard. Predictably, they are pretty much stoned all the time.

Lorre, the creator of Two and a Half Men and The Big Bang Theory, brought the spec script to other broadcast networks and streaming services starting in January.

Disjointed is arriving in a wave of other forthcoming marijuana-centered series, including Amazon’s Highland, HBO’s High Maintenance, and NBC’s Buds.
