Netflix Releases Season Two Date Announcement Trailer for Luke Cage

On Tuesday, Netflix unleashed the season two trailer for their hit Marvel series Luke Cage.

In the trailer, Luke (Mike Colter) is all kinds of badass as he looks directly at the camera to confront the viewing audience. Viewers get to see Luke showing his superhuman abilities to Eric B. and Rakim’s “Paid in Full” as he goes from emerging from a burning truck to being shot by thugs, to throwing someone off a building. He seems to be on the warpath after the events of season one. A nice acknowledgment of black culture comes at the end when Luke throws up the peace sign as an offscreen voice shouts, “Get paid, black man. Get paid.”

This season seems to be building on the momentum of the last and taking it to another level of intensity. Judging by the server crash the show caused in 2016, Netflix needs to be prepared for another one with so much anticipation and hype for this season.

See the new Luke Cage trailer below, along with some first-look photos (it seems Luke’s Defenders pals will be popping up in the new season). Season two debuts on June 22.
