Taking to Twitter Tuesday night, actress Natasha Lyonne confirmed that season two of her Netflix series Russian Doll is happening.
The critically acclaimed show stars Lyonne as Nadia, a New Yorker who gets stuck in a never-ending time loop on the night of her birthday party, which results in her dying over and over again. It’s basically Groundhog Day, but with more death.
Lyonne co-created the show with Amy Poehler and Leslye Headland, and the three serve as executive producers, as well. Headland and Lyonne also tackle the writing for the series and much of the directing.
According to THR, Netflix executives and Lyonne announced the second season at Recode’s Code Conference in Arizona on Tuesday, but Lyonne took to Twitter to show her own excitement:

Season one of Russian Doll premiered in February and received critical acclaim, but there is currently no premiere date for the second season. The show also had supporting and guest turns from Greta Lee, Charlie Barnett, Chloë Sevigny, Elizabeth Ashley and Jeremy Bobb, to name a few. The second season will see Lyonne in eight more episodes.
