Adult Swim Teases Samurai Jack‘s Return in First Full Trailer
Image via Adult SwimAfter a nearly 13-year break, Samurai Jack is finally set to return to screens. The critically acclaimed animated series gained notoriety for its vivid dystopian imagination of a futuristic Japan. The show’s unique cocktail of playful humor and dark imagery fits perfectly in Adult Swim’s bizarre-ist mold.
A description of the show’s first full trailer, released today, sets the stage for season two:
It’s been 50 years since we saw Samurai Jack and time has not been kind to him. Aku has destroyed every time portal and Jack has stopped aging, a side effect of time travel. It seems he is cursed to just roam the land for all eternity.
The new season will return with director Genndy Tartakovsky, and Phil LaMarr voicing Jack. Further casting decisions, however, remain unannounced. Watch the trailer for the season above, plus two quick promos below, and catch the first episode of the season on March 11.
