The Disturbing Trailer for Apple’s M. Night Shyamalan Series Servant Is Here
Image via Apple TV+Premiering exclusively on Apple TV+ Nov. 28 is Servant, M. Night Shyamalan’s psychological thriller series, and have we got one heck of a disturbing trailer to tide us over until then. The Apple original series is billed to be about “a Philadelphia couple in the midst of mourning an unspeakable tragedy, which creates a rift in their marriage and opens the door for a mysterious force to enter their home.”
There’s a lot to unpack in the two minute and 17 second-long clip. It seems that the couple (Dorothy and Sean Turner, played by Lauren Ambrose and Toby Kebbell, respectively) have hired a nanny to care for their baby, but the baby is actually a doll that looks like a baby because the real baby died. So we’ve got dead babies, realistic baby dolls, mysterious nannies, more dolls and suspicious shots of people with knives. Of course there’s the hauntingly ambiguous, “Do you know who you welcomed into your home?” and terrifying music abruptly ended by a baby monitor beeping.
The series, which was ordered by Apple nearly two years ago, also stars Nell Tiger Free (Game of Thrones) as the nanny and Rupert Grint (Harry Potter) as Dorothy’s brother, Julian. Shyamalan directs the series alongside BAFTA-nominated creator, executive producer and writer Tony Basgallop.
