Sherlock’s fourth season premiere will be an especially happy day. Not only is the show’s return imminent after a several year hiatus, we now know that the show is set to return on New Year’s Day.
The show will air its first episode, “The Six Thatchers,” on PBS Masterpiece on Jan. 1, 2017. In the new season, Sherlock is forced to deal with the possible return of his arch-nemesis, Moriarty, after being exiled at the end of the third season.
In the season four teaser below, we see Sherlock looking fairly haggard and world-weary. He no longer has the same spring in his step, and the world around him seems less joyous, as well.
