New on Showtime: All the Movies and TV Coming in March

Where did the month go? March is now right around the corner, and with it comes a whole new slate of movies and TV shows for Showtime subscribers to stream.

The pick of the litter this month comes in the paid-cable channel’s ever-expanding list of original television series. Perhaps chief among them is the premiere of the fourth season of Billions, the Wall Street drama starring Paul Giamatti and Damian Lewis as a U.S. Attorney and hedge fund manager, respectively, locked in competition. The season kicks off with more betrayals and back-room deals on Sunday, March 17, at 9 p.m. ET.

Showtime’s first venture into the late-night talk show space, Desus & Mero, will also continue its first season in March with new episodes airing Thursdays at 11 p.m. ET. The show stars comedians, podcasters and Twitter personalities Daniel Baker and Joel Martinez, aka Desus Nice and The Kid Mero, as they provide quick-witted commentary on everything from music to sports, to politics.

Black Monday concludes its first season in March, as well. The comedy series tackling the worst stock market crash in history stars Don Cheadle, Andrew Rannells, Regina Hall and Paul Scheer as Wall Street outsiders looking for a piece of the pie. The series is executive produced by Cheadle, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and series creators Jordan Cahan and David Caspe.

The ninth season of the comedy series Shameless will also wrap up in March, with the season finale airing on Sunday, March 10, at 9 p.m. ET. The adaptation of Paul Abbott’s U.K. series of the same name boasts an ensemble cast that includes William H. Macy, Emmy Rossum, Jeremy Allen White, Ethan Cutkosky and Emma Kenney. With the premiere of the ninth season last year, Shameless is now the longest-running original scripted series in Showtime’s history.

Television isn’t all that’s coming to Showtime in March, though. The cable channel is also bringing an extensive list of movies to its subscribers this month, beginning with hit films like Eight Below, Friends With Money, The Ides of March and Up In The Air on March 1. Those titles are joined by goofy buddy-cop comedy Show Dogs on March 5, which stars Will Arnett as a cop and Ludacris as his partner, who also happens to be a Rottweiler. Ghost World arrives on Showtime on March 20, with Scarlett Johansson and Thora Birch playing a pair of disaffected teenage girls who struggle to find their paths in life following their graduation from high school. The cult hit from director Terry Zwigoff is based on an acclaimed comic book of the same name by Daniel Clowes. Finally, on March 31, Showtime is adding Gods and Monsters, which stars Ian McKellen as aging Hollywood director James Whale, as well as the sprawling Western Legends of the Fall, ‘80s coming-of-age drama St. Elmo’s Fire, and Vertical Limit, a cult thriller about a rescue effort for rock climbers stuck on K2, the world’s second-highest peak.

Showtime is also adding a handful of streaming collections to its roster in March, each with a different theme and set of films for subscribers to enjoy. Some of this month’s themes include women in film both in front of and behind the camera, films about dogs in the Canine Collection, a selection of political dramas and a collection for fans of Billions.
