HBO’s Silicon Valley Coming to End after Forthcoming Season Six

After six iterations, HBO’s Silicon Valley spoof is coming to an end, per THR.

The show is currently in pre-production for its sixth season, and is set to end with those seven episodes later in the year. The show began in 2014 from creator/executive producer Mike Judge and executive producer Alec Berg.

The show follows tech entrepreneur Richard Hendricks and his tech company, Pied Piper, as he tries to make it in the cutthroat industry that is Silicon Valley. With a practically all-male cast, the show has boosted the careers of actors like Thomas Middleditch, Kumail Nanjiani, Martin Starr and Zach Woods. The series has garnered critical acclaim and 40 Emmy nominations, but never any major wins.

Silicon Valley has been a career and life highlight for us. We’ll miss it desperately, but we’ve always let Pied Piper’s journey guide the way, and Season 6 seems to be the fitting conclusion,” said Judge and Berg in a statement, per THR. “We are forever indebted to our incredible cast, crew, and partners at HBO. At a certain point, there’s only so much we can do to make the world a better place.”

The end of show marks the third series finale from a major, long-running HBO show this year, following Game of Thrones and Veep.
