Stranger Things Season Three Soundtrack Hits Shelves Next Month (on Cassette, Too)

Legacy Recordings has announced the soundtrack for season three of Stranger Things will hit the shelves in several formats, including digital, CD and cassette on July 5. The soundtrack will feature 15 classic tracks and the debut of an original cast recording.

12” vinyl editions of the soundtrack will be made available on July 26, and will include a mini-poster and a bonus 7” vinyl single. Exclusive colored editions of the vinyl will be sold at Walmart, Target and Urban Outfitters, and an alternate cover edition will be available at Barnes & Noble.

Grammy- and Emmy-nominated music supervisor Nora Felder worked alongside Stranger Things creators Matt and Russ Duffer, and Grammy-nominated legacy compilation producer Timothy J. Smith to compose the work.

The show’s sonic companions are quite popular. Made up of the 1980s hits used in the show’s first two seasons, Legacy’s Stranger Things: Music from the Netflix Original Series debuted in the Top 10 on Billboard’s Top Soundtracks chart in the U.S. and was nominated for a Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media award at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards.

Stranger Things 3 is set to premiere on Netflix on July 4, and you can check out everything we know so far about the forthcoming season here.

In the meantime, check out the official Stranger Things: Soundtrack from the Netflix Original Series, Season 3 album artwork below. You can preorder the soundtrack here.
