The Television Critics Association have announced the 2022 TCA Award nominations for their 38th annual celebration of the best in TV. After the lull brought on by the pandemic, Peak TV is back in full swing, leading to a stacked roaster for the upcoming TCA Awards. This year’s ceremony will also mark the first in-person presentation in three years.
HBO and HBO Max dominate the nominations this year, with 21 total across the two streamers. Netflix and Apple TV+ trail with 13 and 10 nominations, respectively. ABC’s freshman comedy Abbott Elementary got top marks this year with five nominations. Other series stand-outs include Netflix’s smash hit Squid Game, Apple TV+’s mind-bending Severance, HBO Max’s comedy Hacks, and AMC’s beloved Better Call Saul.
