The Good Fight Renewed for Season Two

The Good Fight is a spin-off from the popular show The Good Wife. It begins one year after the end of The Good Wife, and follows the troubled young lawyer Maia Rindell, and her mentor and godmother Diane Lockhart. Rindell gets caught up in a financial scam that results in the loss of the majority of Lockhart’s money. As a result, Lockhart (who was on the brink of a blissful retirement) must return to work at a Chicago law firm, and she brings her goddaughter along with her.
Paste’s own Amy Amatangelo was skeptical, but ended up giving the show an 8.0 after finding it smart, engaging and satisfying. Marc DeBevoise, President and Chief Operating Officer of CBS Interactive, said the CBS team is thrilled with the positive feedback. “We’re only a few episodes into the first season and the reaction from CBS All Access subscribers and critics alike has been phenomenal,” he said. “This series and its characters are just beginning and we can’t wait to see where Robert and Michelle King, their creative team and the amazing cast take The Good Fight next.”
The Good Fight is only available on CBS All Access—the digital service costs viewers $5.99 (with commercials, bleh) and $9.99 commercial-free. They only release one episode of The Good Fight a week, and the service don’t have a whole lot else in its arsenal (Big Brother, 2 Broke Girls). But the hype around The Good Fight seems legit, and it’d be worth it to try the one-week free trial. (On second thought, maybe wait like six weeks, and then try the one-week free trial so you can binge the whole thing.)
