The Handmaid’s Tale Casts Christopher Meloni and Elizabeth Reaser for Season Three

Hulu has announced that season three of its 11-time Emmy-winning drama The Handmaid’s Tale will introduce two new characters to its dystopian narrative, played by guest stars Christopher Meloni and Elizabeth Reaser.

The character of Commander Winslow will be portrayed by Meloni of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, while Reaser of The Haunting of Hill House and The Twilight Saga fame, will play the Commander’s wife, Mrs. Winslow.

Commander Winslow will be aiding Commander Fred (Joseph Fiennes) and Serena Joy (Yvonne Strahovski) on an important and currently unspecified trip. Mrs. Winslow will also serve as a friend and source of inspiration for Serena Joy.

According to a Hulu press release, season three of The Handmaid’s Tale will be “driven by June’s resistance to the dystopian regime of Gilead and her struggle to strike back against overwhelming odds.” The stand against Gilead will be carried by the defiant prayer: “Blessed be the fight.”

Season three is currently in production and will stream exclusively on Hulu.
