Netflix Assembles All-Star Voice Cast for Last Kids on Earth, Including Bruce Campbell, Mark Hamill and More

Netflix is in the process of adapting the bestselling The Last Kids on Earth book series into an animated zombie program, and today comes the news that they’ve assembled one hell of a voice cast to bring this show to life.

Nick Wolfhard, the older brother of Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard, will portray the main character, 13-year-old Jack Sullivan, but it’s all the other names that have us in a tizzy. The Last Kids on Earth will feature the following lineup of top-tier vocal talent: Mark Hamill, Rosario Dawson, Catherine O’Hara, Keith David, Garland Whitt, Montse Hernandez, Charles Demers, and last but not least, horror legend Bruce Campbell. That is a vocal cast for the ages, right there.

Here’s the series synopsis:

The Last Kids on Earth follows 13-year-old Jack Sullivan and a band of suburban middle schoolers who live in a decked-out tree house, play video games, gorge themselves on candy, and battle zombies in the aftermath of the monster apocalypse. It’s a hilarious series filled with wisecracking kids, crazy gadgets, a lifetime supply of zombies and giant-sized monsters.

Sounds like harmless fun to us, although one has to wonder how they rationalize their way past “everyone I knew in my previous life is now dead” in order to keep a sense of levity. Regardless, The Last Kids on Earth is developed by Atomic Cartoons, with input from Max Brallier, the author of the book series. It’s set to launch sometime later in 2019—the Halloween season seems like a good bet.
