The Last Man on Earth is Still Alive
Photo by Kevin Estrada/FOXWithout spoiling much, the ending of the third season of The Last Man on Earth (and the ratings the show was getting) didn’t exactly inspire confidence that there would be any further adventures of Will Forte’s Phil Tandy Miller—nor did Forte’s recent dire-seeming tweet.
…our show’s on a serious bubble. So if you like it, please watch on tv tonite or DVR or https://t.co/ovQQwhLHa2 in the next 3 days. Thanx!

But it turns out that the end of days for our hero Tandy will have to wait a little while longer, as Fox has announced that its renewing the show for a fourth season. EW first reported the news, pointing out that before it broke, Forte previously told the publication, “I’m actually a little more hopeful than I was but until you get that call saying you’re coming back, you never know.”
The Last Man on Earth also features January Jones, Kristen Schaal, Mel Rodriguez and Mary Steenburgen, and [SPOILER] added Kristen Wiig at the tail-end of season three. Whether Wiig becomes a permanent cast member remains to be seen, and there’s no word yet on when exactly the fourth season will start. For now, it’s enough to know that Forte continues to have a show centered around him on TV.
Stay tuned for more info on the show’s fourth season, and find our recent feature on its “very different kind of apocalypse” right here.
