Grab Some Tissues: The Leftovers Season Three to Premiere in April

TV News The Leftovers

If you haven’t been emotionally preparing for season three of The Leftovers, it’s time to start. We now know what month the HBO show will premiere its third and final season, thanks to a message from co-creators Damon Lindelof and Tom Perrotta.

In a video posted on social media, the pair announced that the critically acclaimed show will debut its third season in April of 2017. Usually, that spot is occupied by Game of Thrones, but that show will debut in the summer this year because it had to begin filming later in the year.

As for The Leftovers, the show wrapped up its second season in Dec. of 2015 with an almost perfect finale. At least part of season three, which will be eight episodes instead of the usual 10, will take place in Australia. The Leftovers stars Justin Theroux, Carrie Coon, Liv Tyler, Amy Brenneman, Regina King and John Carroll. Watch the video below to see its creators make the announcement in true Leftovers form, and if you’re upset about the delay of GoT, read Lindelof’s shirt and know that he feels your pain.
