Fresh off reports that Hulu’s subscriber growth is decelerating—it increased from nine to 12 million over the past year, down from the 50 percent growth over the previous year—the streaming giant announced some good news that might help boost those numbers: it’s renewing both The Path and The Mindy Project.
We’re particularly excited about the former, as The Path has been one of our favorite shows of the year to date. The Aaron Paul-starring drama, which will now see a second season, deals with a cult called Meyerism and has thus far done an excellent job of handling issues such as religion and familial intimacy. If you haven’t seen it yet, it’s not too late to jump into the first season and catch up before it ends on May 25.
The Mindy Project, meanwhile, seems to have settled in nicely on Hulu after moving over from Fox. The show will continue into a fifth season of exploring the life and times of its titular character, who now has a son named Leo.
