Morgan (Lennie James) Announced as Walking Dead/Fear the Walking Dead Crossover Character
Photo by Frank Ockenfels 3/AMCChris Hardwick revealed which character was going to make the crossover from The Walking Dead to its spin-off on AMC, and it’s someone who’s been with the show off and on since the very first episode of season one. Morgan Jones (Lennie James), who first helped Rick adjust to the zombie apocalypse in that pilot episode, will become a featured character in Fear the Walking Dead.
James just wrapped filming episodes for season eight last week in Atlanta, and he’s already in Austin, Texas, to begin work on season four of Fear. James appeared live via satellite on Talking Dead to reveal the news.
“From the very first moment that the whole suggestion that Morgan might go from The Walking Dead to Fear the Walking Dead,” James told Hardwick, “the hardest part of it has been leaving The Walking Dead, leaving that cast, leaving that crew.”
Walking Dead showrunner Scott Gimple sent Hardwick a message: “Even though Morgan is going to be featured on Fear, he has a lot of story left on The Walking Dead. There’s also the whole rest of season eight to look forward of The Walking Dead to as well. … It was also important to see Fear’s world and characters through new yet familiar eyes.”
Looks like Morgan and his deadly quarterstaff will begin clearing walkers further out west.
