Get ready for more action and ancient secrets—Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft is officially back for a second season.

Netflix has confirmed that Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft will return for Season 2. The animated series is based on the videogame franchise that started in 1996. The Legend of Lara Croft stars Hayley Atwell as the voice of Croft, exploring Lara’s adventure through a high-stakes chase around the globe.

The upcoming season will see Lara embarking on a new quest involving stolen African Orisha masks, per Netflix. Alongside her best friend, Sam (played by Karen Fukuhara), Lara will travel the world to recover these artifacts while uncovering deeper secrets related to Orisha history. The next chapter will also introduce a new antagonist: a billionaire who seeks the masks for her purposes.

Showrunner Tasha Huo (The Witcher: Blood Origin) outlined the thematic direction for Season 2, emphasizing a transition from Lara’s initial isolation to a focus on teamwork. “Season 1, thematically, is about Lara embracing how her dad dealt with grief, which was isolating,” Huo stated. “As we get into Season 2, we’re trying to build Lara’s team over the course of the show, so she goes from an isolated hero, who only wants to do things on her own—a lone wolf—to realizing, ‘Actually, I have this really cool team behind me.'”

Atwell, who will be reprising her role as Croft in the second season, stars alongside a voice cast that includes Earl Baylon (Curses!), Allen Maldonado (Heels), Richard Armitage (Fool Me Once), Zoe Boyle (Downton Abbey), and Roxanna Ortega (Archer). The series is produced by Legendary Television and animated by Powerhouse Animation. Huo serves as an executive producer alongside Howard K. Bliss (We Need to Talk), Brad Graeber (Blood of Zeus), and Dallas Dickinson (The Vicious Kind). Dmitri M. Johnson (Sonic the Hedgehog) is also an EP along with Jacob Robinson (Skull Island), Jen Chambers (Youth and Consequences), Noah Hughes (Tomb Raider), and Timothy I. Stevenson (Rival Speak).

A release date for the second installment of the series has yet to be confirmed.
