True Blood's Joe Manganiello Will Star In The History Channel's Six

It’s been fewer than four years since Kathryn Bigelow’s take on SEAL Team Six in Zero Dark Thirty, but the Navy’s biggest badasses are getting back on the screen. According to Deadline, Joe Manganiello has joined the growing cast of Six, an upcoming eight-episode series on the History Channel detailing the fictional SEALs’ mission to kill a Taliban leader in Afghanistan.

Manganiello, who made his name playing werewolf Alcide Herveaux on True Blood and has also appeared in Magic Mike and One Tree Hill, will play Rip Taggart, the SEAL team’s former commander who now works in Africa. He joins a cast that includes Barry Sloane, Dominic Adams and probably some aliens, given this is a History Channel program. That, or sasquatches.
