Tiffany Haddish will lend her voice to Tuca, the title character in Netflix’s new animated series Tuca & Bertie. The comedy comes to us from creator Lisa Hanawalt of BoJack Horseman, with Raphael Bob-Waksberg (BoJack Horseman), Noel Bright (BoJack Horseman, Friends), Steven A. Cohen (BoJack Horseman, Jack & Bobby) and Haddish herself serving as executive producers.
The first season of Tuca & Bertie will consist of 10 episodes, and is currently without a premiere date. Netflix describes the series as “a comedy about the friendship between two 30-year-old bird women who live in the same apartment building: Tuca, a cocky, care-free toucan, and Bertie, an anxious, daydreaming songbird.” Bertie has not yet been cast, but Haddish sounds like a wonderful fit for Tuca. You can get a first glance at both characters below.
