The beautifully crafted new stop-motion film ParaNorman opens with two important pieces of information. First, we observe our young hero as he watches a B-zombie flick, complete with choppy edits and a boom mic that creeps its way into the frame. Jon Brion to Score Animated Film ParaNorman

Composer, producer and all-around virtuoso Jon Brion is working on the score for a new stop-motion animated thriller titled ParaNorman. Made by the same people behind 2009’s Coraline, ParaNorman follows a 13-year-old boy who can speak to the dead on a mission to save his town from zombies. Casey Affleck, Tempestt Bledsoe, Jeff Garlin and John Goodman are signed on to do voice acting. As a composer, Brion has written music for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and I ♥ Huckabees, and as a producer he has worked with Kanye West and Elliot Smith....  read more
