Cardi B Releases New Song with Bruno Mars, “Please Me”

Cardi B has released her first new song of 2019, an infectious collaboration with Bruno Mars titled “Please Me.” The track is the second collaboration between the two artists, the first being the triple-platinum hit “Finesse (Remix).”

“Please Me” was produced by Mars and The Stereotypes. It comes just days after Cardi B won Best Rap Album at the 61st Grammy Awards for her 2018 album Invasion of Privacy, becoming the first female solo artist to do so.

Cardi B announced “Please Me” on Instagram Wednesday, saying she was coming “back from retirement” to release the song. The rapper appeared to deactivate her Instagram account on Monday, but reactivated it to hype the song.

Ok so I’m back from retirement to announce I have a brand new song coming out Friday at midnight with @brunomars . # twogrammywinningartist

Mars is no stranger to the Grammy Awards, either, having won 11 of them himself. He received his first solo Album of the Year win in 2018 for his album 24K Magic, beating out Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN., Jay-Z’s 4:44, Childish Gambino’s Awaken, My Love! and Lorde’s Melodrama.
