It’s the end of an era: this is the last Christmas with Barack Obama as our president. To observe this sad occasion, and pay tribute to both the last eight years and one of the greatest Christmas songs of all time, last night Saturday Night Live aired “Jingle Barack,” a parody of Run-D.M.C.’s “Christmas in Hollis” all about Obama leaving office and what that means for America. (Hint: almost none of what it means for America is good.) Musical guest Chance the Rapper and lifetime SNL cast member Kenan Thompson lead the song, with guest appearances by Run and D.M.C. themselves, and a special guest appearance by a very sexual Santa Claus near the end. SNL did a great job recapturing the look of the original video, which we’ve embedded below, from the awesome reindeer to the Portland Trail Blazers satin jacket. Thankfully they’ve cut out that creepy as hell elf.
