Rick and Morty Return in Berserk Season Four Trailer
Season 4A debuts on Nov. 10, with Season 4B to follow in 2020
Images via Adult Swim/YouTubeThe Rick and Morty-est Rick and Morty is making its return to televisions in a little over a month, and Adult Swim has put out a new trailer for the beloved sci-fi dark comedy’s fourth season, now set for a Nov. 10 premiere. The new season is being split into two parts, Adult Swim tells Paste, with the first five episodes airing this year and five more to follow in 2020.
Set to “Genesis” by Justice, the characteristically chaotic trailer introduces us to wacky new characters only to immediately kill them (R.I.P. Chachi), gives Morty a dragon only for Rick to quickly rescind it, brings back our beloved Misters Meeseeks and Poopybutthole, sets up “an Akira-type situation going down behind the mall,” and just generally Rick and Mortys all over the place. Meanwhile, a strangely generic voiceover acknowledges, “It’s been way too long”—the show’s Season Three finale aired in October 2017—and riffs on the season’s split format, calling five episodes “half the season you deserve, all the season we could handle.” At this rate, it’s going to be ages before Justin Roiland, Dan Harmon and company fulfill the 70-episode order Adult Swim made last May.
Today’s new trailer follows a recent teaser out of San Diego Comic-Con, as well as a couple of first-look images from the new season released in July. Adult Swim revealed back in May that the series would be returning in November.
Rick and Morty riggity-riggity-returns on Sunday, Nov. 10, at 11:30 p.m. ET. Check out the new trailer below.
