In Songs Illustrated, we enlist our favorite comic book artists and cartoonists to translate songs into sequential art. In this special print edition, Southern Bastards artist and Spider-Gwen scribe Jason Latour filters the thunderous beats and flowing rhymes of Run the Jewels’ “Don’t Get Captured” into an adrenalized escape from a familiar despot. Featuring cameos from Killer Mike and El-P, the comic captures a country in the throes of corruption, and its liberation with the help of pounds of kush to return to us victorious.
