Paste’s field reporters are gearing up for our Women’s March Social Media Takeover, which will start at 9am Saturday and continue throughout the day. Our editors, writers and interns are in D.C. and NYC, and our freelance journalists are scattered at sister marches throughout the country.
The incredible photojournalist Maddie McGarvey is taking over our Instagram account for the day so she can share photos from the Women’s March on Washington in real-time with Paste readers.
TIME named Maddie one of the country’s best Instagram photographers, Getty says she’s a top emerging talent, and Paste couldn’t agree more. We can’t wait to see her stories.
Paste Editors Brittany Joyce and Erik Moe will be live-tweeting stories about the street style, protest signs and artist responses happening at both The Women’s March on Washington, D.C. and sister march in New York City.
Our regular contributor E.C. Flamming will join the crowds in D.C. to meet as many #NastyWomen as she can, and to share their words directly with you through a day-long series of Snapchat stories.
Not sure whether to laugh or cry this week? You won’t want to miss her story on The Unquotable Trump comic book by artist R. Sikoryak. (Spoiler – you’ll probably do both.)
Paste’s Social Media Manager Annie Black will be serving up Women’s March coverage across all our channels, all weekend long. (The Paste Movies crew just got to Sundance, too, so we’re keeping her extra busy rn.)
And of course the Paste Politics team is working tirelessly to bring you breaking stories throughout the weekend and into President Trump’s first week in office.
Contributor Molly Harris is taking the first metro into D.C. and will be visiting as many of the “Trump-safe” volunteer locations she covered in her must-have Guide for the Women’s March as she can.
She will also walk with marchers to understand the range of reasons people choose to participate in the Women’s March on Washington.
Contributor Cait Bladt will be in the crowds at the Women’s March giving you updates on the speakers, the protests and any especially funny conversations she overhears.
Look for Cait’s full thoughts on the weekend’s events on Paste Politics next week and check out her current piece, To My White Friends Shouting on Facebook, for tips on how we can all be better allies.
