Johnnie Walker Has a New $25,000 Bottle

Johnnie Walker has a brand new whisky, a 50-year-old John Walker Masters’ Edition. Named after the creator of the brand, the whisky is blended from liquid from the six distilleries that existed during the lifetime of the brand’s founder, five of which are now closed.

Only 100 bottles of the exclusive whisky were made, which means this one is going to go for a pretty high price. One bottle will retail for $25,000, making this one of the most expensive bottles of Johnnie Walker ever produced, Scotch Whisky reports.

As you might expect from something with such a hearty price tag, each bottle will be in a crystal decanter that will be individually numbered. The box for the bottle was made by N.E.J Stevenson, the official cabinet makers for the queen.

At $25k a bottle, we’re guessing most of these are going to be collector items on a shelf rather than bought for consumption. If you did decide to drink it, the liquid inside is cask strength and is bottled at 43.2% ABV.

Johnnie Walker has described the taste as “luscious blackcurrants and citrus giving way to rich, creamy dark chocolate and a long, gentle and warming finish with cooling menthol and a subtle smokiness.”

Sounds delicious.
