The Oscars are this Sunday! Whether you’re settling in to watch the award show at home or headed to an Academy Awards viewing party with friends, there’s one thing that’s bound to make the night even better: a delicious cocktail.
If you’re not quite sure what to mix up, here are a few delicious Oscar-inspired cocktails that are bound to win awards.
Golden Statue
Ingredients
1.5 parts Beefeater
.5 parts Elderberry syrup
.5 parts Meyer lemon juice
Directions: Shake all ingredients with ice, strain into a chilled cocktail glass and top with Champagne. Garnish with a mint leaf.
Red Carpet Rose
Ingredients
1 part Beefeater 24
2 parts Lillet Rose
3 parts sparkling wine (like Mumm Napa)
Directions: Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass and stir. Pour over fresh ice. Garnish with a grapefruit twist.
Lady Trudy
Inspired by Lady Bird
Ingredients:
1 oz. Old Forester Classic 86 Proof
.5 oz Grapefruit Juice
.5 oz Ginger Syrup
Top with Korbel Brut
Instructions: Shake first 3 ingredients with ice. Double strain into flute or champagne coupe. Top with Korbel Brut. Garnish with lemon or grapefruit peel.
Still Water
Inspired by “The Shape of Water”
Ingredients
1.5 oz. Nolet’s gin
1. oz. Ketel One vodka
.5 oz. cucumber infused Lillet Blanc
Rose water mist
Dill sprig and rosebud garnish
Directions: Build all ingredients into a mixing glass, stir, mist rose water into coupe before straining cocktail.
Joi & The Nexus 9
Inspired by “Blade Runner 2049”
Ingredients
1.5 oz. Butterfly pea flower infused Twisted Path rum
.5 oz. Kalani coconut liqueur
.75 oz. lime juice
.75 oz. cilantro and chili syrup
2 oz. seltzer
Directions: Combine all ingredients in a mixing tin, shake, strain over fresh ice in a Collins glass. Top with soda and garnish.
