Studio Ghibli-Themed Teas Are Now a Thing

Looking for the ideal merch with which to display your love for Studio Ghibli? The Japanese company Benelic Co. and tea retailer Lupicia are set to sell Studio Ghibli-themed teas through the former’s Donguri Kyowakoku chain (which translates to “Acorn Republic”).

Two of the three teas on sale are based on Kiki’s Delivery Service, and the other is based on My Neighbor Totoro.

“Jiji and the Butterfly,” pictured above, is based on the cat Jiji from Kiki’s Delivery Service and, as Rocket News 24 explains, is “a fragrant rooibos tea filled with the flavours of strawberry, apricot and honey.”

“Kiki and the Townscape” is a black tea filled “with the sweet and tart flavours of strawberry and blackcurrants.”

Neatest of all, “The Napping Totoro” is a “hojicha roasted green tea sourced from the Sayama Hills in Saitama Prefecture,” the setting for the film My Neighbor Totoro.

Unfortunately, the teas are set to be exclusively available in Asian markets, but there is some talk of them hopping the pond into American outlets Global Rakuten and Japan Trend Shop. Definitely look out for them on your next trip to Japan, however, and in the meantime, check out Paste’s favorite 100 anime movies of all time.
