Watch the First Trailer for Alan Wake 2

After an 11 year wait, Alan Wake is finally getting a sequel. Released in 2010 for the Xbox 360 and PC by Remedy, the studio behind Max Payne and 2019’s excellent Control, Alan Wake is a game structured like a thriller series, centering on a crime novelist stricken with writer’s block who falls into a survival horror scenario while on vacation. The critically-acclaimed psychological horror game received two DLCs (“Special One: The Signal” and “Special Two: The Writer”) before a black comedy pulp spinoff in 2012.

The game was repackaged with its DLC for release in October of this year as Alan Wake: Remastered, and in the meantime Remedy released Quantum Break (a quantum physics/time travel-centered third-person shooter originally envisioned as a sequel) and Control (a paranormal action game that was one of our favorites of the decade, and which had a little bit of crossover with Alan Wake).

At long last, fans of the original game and Remedy’s other work can feast their eyes on a trailer for a sequel. Alan Wake is coming back. See the new trailer here:
